LATIN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

OUR PHILOSOPHY

We seek to replace rearguard tendencies that we have seen in our community - selfish, individualistic and isolating - with new leadership, with a new dynamic vision, both individual and community.

Here we recognize that good leaders must first become good servants.

We have been inspired by Roberto Greenleaf's Servant Leadership model.

The servant leader is servant first, starting with a natural feeling that one wants to serve, to serve first, rather than wanting power, influence, fame or wealth.

We seek to create a new generation of these servant leaders of the Latin Chamber of Commerce to reach the Latin community with a new generous, unifying, creative and encompassing vision. In short, consciousness- the concept that here, through our leadership, everyone will rise with us, always resisting the temptations of the ego since.

The ego focuses on one's own survival, pleasure, and improvement to the exclusion of others; the ego is selfishly ambitious. View relationships in threatening or non-threatening terms, like little children classifying all people as "nice" or "bad." Consciousness, on the other hand, democratizes and elevates the ego to a broader sense of the group, the whole, the community, the greater good. See life in terms of service and contribution, in terms of the security and satisfaction of others.

THE CORE VALUES

The main values that guide the leadership consciousness of the Latin Chamber of Commerce will be the following:

LISTEN

Traditionally, and also in servant leadership, managers are required to have communication skills as well as the competence to make decisions. A servant leader is motivated to actively listen to others and supports them in identifying the best decision. This especially applies to paying attention to the unspoken.

This means trusting your inner voice and discovering what your body, mind and spirit are communicating.

EMPATHY

A servant leader tries to understand and empathize with others. Workers can be considered not only as employees, but also as people who need respect and appreciation for their personal development. As a result, leadership is seen as a special type of human work, which ultimately generates competitive advantage.

HEALING

A great strength of a servant leader is the ability to heal oneself and others. A servant leader tries to help people resolve their problems and conflicts in relationships, because they want to develop the skills of each individual. This leads to the formation of a company culture, in which the environment is characterized by teamwork, dynamic fun and not by fear of failure.

AWARENESS

A servant leader must have general knowledge, but especially self-awareness. You have the ability to see situations from a more integrated approach, a holistic position. As a result, you gain a better understanding about ethics and values.

PERSUASION

A servant leader does not take advantage of his power and status to coerce compliance, but rather tries to convince his followers to help them achieve their goals and objectives. This element of servant leadership distinguishes it more clearly from traditional authoritarian models.

CONCEPTUALIZATION

A servant leader thinks beyond the realities of day-to-day life. That means you have the ability to see beyond the limits of business operation and also focus on long-term goals. A leader builds a personal vision that only he can develop through reflection on the meaning of life. As a result, specific objectives and implementation strategies are derived.

PROSPECTIVE

Foresight is the ability to foresee the probable outcome of a situation. It allows the servant leader to learn about the past and achieve a better understanding of the current reality and based on these two elements, try to shape the future. It also allows us to identify the consequences for the future. This characteristic is closely related to conceptualization. Unlike other characteristics, which can be consciously developed, foresight is a characteristic that can be born with.

JOINT RESPONSIBILITY

CEOs, staff and administrators are tasked with maintaining the institution for the greater well-being of society. In conclusion, servant leadership is seen as an obligation to help and serve others. Openness and persuasion are more important than control.

COMMITMENT

Commitment to the growth of people. A servant leader is convinced that people have intrinsic value beyond their contributions as workers. Therefore, it encourages the personal, professional and spiritual growth of employees. For example, it invests in people's personal and professional development, so that they have a vested interest in everyone's way of thinking, and encourages employee participation in decision-making.

CONSTRUCTION

Community building. A servant leader identifies the means to build a strong community within his or her organization and wants to develop true community among companies and institutions.

One of the most commonly cited examples of servant leadership is Abraham Lincoln, who used the principles of servant leadership to help preserve the Union during the American Civil War and ultimately emancipate slaves in the United States.

Another example of servant leadership is Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., who championed the civil rights movement and supported protests and nonviolent demonstrations to bring about change on a national scale. As demonstrated by his heroic actions, Dr. King's desire helping others is a true example of servant leadership.
