OBJECTIVES
Bring new members to nurture the Chamber of Latino Merchants to promote better service, maintain a space, a team dedicated to local merchants. Our metric is number and, more importantly, satisfaction and retention of our members, which we always monitor through surveys.
STRATEGY
Build a tight and effective infrastructure to maintain the Chamber of Merchants and bring in new members.
Organize ourselves internally in the following categories
a) memberships and scope
b) graphic design and materials promotional
c) bookkeeping and accounting
d) teamwork, internal and external leadership
e) Education: training and research related to small businesses, demographic studies, the local and state economy vis-a-vis small merchants for both the team and the community
f) networking and social events
g) general management. In short, we seek to empower our members through our structure and trained staff dedicated to the scope, logistics, and clear and transparent administration of the Chamber of Latin Merchants of DuPage
TACTICS
(Actions) We will conduct daily administration of our DuPage Chamber of Latin Merchants to facilitate the entry of new members while through our energetic and motivational outreach reaching new members throughout DuPage County. Establish a database in Excel (or later another program) to maintain a membership base and its information, internal information and intranet system to facilitate communication.
INTERNAL MANAGEMENT
As a non-profit endeavor there will be democracy and democratic spirit in place. All decisions will be made with the approval of a majority of the 8 founding members as long as there is a choir: Cristóbal, Rafael, Gabriela, Celso, Eva, Julieta, Sugeira, Pablo. There will be transparency, camaraderie, communication, self-criticism and optimism in force. There will be group meetings once a month and committees will need to catch up at least twice a month. There will also be a platform (text, email, etc.) to stay in touch daily.
THREE BRANCHES OF ADMINISTRATION
There will be three branches of democratic administration of the DuPage Chamber of Latino Merchants.

The Executive: internal administration, superintendence, leadership and teamwork, general planning, meetings, communication between committees)
Outreach Committee: graphic design, new members, promotional materials, press, networking, social events, neighborhood mobilizations to communicate with new members
Logistics committee: IT, Excel, internal documents, by-laws, regulations, resource center, meetings with the Illinois State Chamber of Commerce, treasury, book keeping.
